What are neurotoxins and how long do results last?
Neurotoxins, also known as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are injectable solutions that temporarily block nerve receptors in the muscle, preventing lines and wrinkles from forming. Over time, continued treatments can also reduce deeper lines that are present at rest. Resolution or smoothing of wrinkles usually becomes apparent 3-10 days later.
Results from neurotoxins typically last 3-5 months, this time varies based on area treated and individual factors.
Are neurotoxin injections painful?
We use a very small needle for the injection of neurotoxins. There may be a "pinch" or slight discomfort but shouldn't be painful.
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a natural component of our skin. Once injected, you will instantly be provided with volume and smoothed out facial wrinkles. With natural results allowing for normal facial expressions. In addition to filling wrinkles, dermal fillers hydrate the surface of the skin to keep it looking fresh and plump.
How long do dermal fillers last?
On average dermal fillers last 8-12 months, but results will vary based on patient factors and area treated.
Are dermal filler injections painful?
Fillers can be uncomfortable and potentially painful, however, we provide a numbing cream prior to injections. As well the filler itself has a numbing agent in it. Think of going to the dentist, the initial injection is painful, but then you are numb and unable to feel where work was done.
I've seen people look "funny" or like they obviously had work done, how do I avoid this?
At Belle Aesthetics we strive for NATURAL results. At your initial appointment we will use our medical judgement for the medication dosing. When you return for your 2 week followup appointment we will reassess and see if you would benefit from additional product. This approach will ensure you will continue to natural but pleasing results.
What if I don't like the results?
For neurotoxins, the results are not permanent and will be reversed with time.
For dermal fillers, we have a product called Hyaluronidase, this product immediately breaks down the filler which will return your features to how they were prior to your treatment. Alternatively the results will dissipate after 8-12 months.
